Kwareżimal is a traditional Maltese sweet that is typically enjoyed during Lent.
As it’s associated with the Lenten fasting period, it’s traditionally made with simple ingredients such as flour, ground almonds, citrus zest, orange blossom water, and spices such as cinnamon or cloves.
